About What area should I move to in Stockton

What area should I move to in Stockton?
I'm trying to find out what areas of Stockton would be nice to move to, but I've never been to the area. Does anyone know what areas are nicer, as well as what areas to stay away from? Also, I'll have work by the University of the Pacific, so I'd like to live in the nicer area, but close enough to get to work in Stockton. And I already know it's supposed to be a dangerous area...I'm trying to make the best of it. Thanks! My husband saw the Lincoln area and said it looked like neat, but is that a bad area too? We aren't much into the gated community style...but if it's that bad I guess we can go for it. Someone else said Woodbridge and Lodi...and Livermore. Any other info on the area?

Answer 1 :
Actually the neighborhoods around UOP are probably the safest.
Answer 2 :
The Tuxedo area around UOP is ok. Also, the Country Club area isn't too bad...Yet. Most all of Stockton has it's potential for crime or problems. They are letting go many more police officers this year because of budget problems, so just be careful. Research the areas first. Drive through potential neighborhoods and ask the people around their homes. Most folks with any sense will be honest. Go into the Chamber of Commerce, ask them. Or the Police Department and ask them.
Answer 3 :
Try Lodi.
Answer 4 :
Anywhere outside the city limits.
Answer 5 :
Livermore is a long ways from Stockton. The neighbors west of I-5 tend to be the nicer neighborhoods. Some of them are gated, but most are not. Brookside, Lincoln Village Wes are 2 nice areas. Lodi would be a nice town north of Stockton....a 20 minute commute or so. Good luck with the new job and happy house hunting

how can i find volunteer work as pharmacy tech. in stockton,ca?

Answer 1 :
Go to the pharmacies and ask them if they are looking for a volunteer pharmacy tech. Be prepared to fill out an application. Give them a call back if you put in an application but don't hear back after a couple of days. You might also want to call at least one pharmacy and ask if working as a volunteer pharmacy tech is even possible. Since it is a position that requires training, they may only use paid workers for the position

Is it safe to live in west stockton ca?
I'm planning to move to stockton, I'm thingking west since its closer going back to the bay for my work, west stockton is ok??

Answer 1 :
It is usually safe in the western part of Stockton, as long as you don't go too far to the south. I wouldn't go farther south than Mount Diablo, although there are some newer areas that would probably be okay. There are some area that are not, but you can usually can tell by looking around.
Answer 2 :
I'd say North and West Stockon are safer in relation to East and South. I think typically (and stereotypically), Brookside (West of I5) and Spanos (North Stockton) are a few of the safer areas of Stockton.

Can anyone recommend a good real estate brokerage to work with in Stockton,Ca?

Answer 1 :
Have you asked your friends/relatives for a good person to work with ? They are out there, in large and small firms alike. You would want an individual who will satisfactorily address all your real estate needs and concerns. If you would like, I can refer you to a GRI (Graduate, Realtor Institute) certified Realtor/broker who is very considerate, efficient, knowledgeable and thorough. Good luck with your move :)
Answer 2 :
I can for Lodi, which is next to Stockton a broker who is ethical and experienced.
Answer 3 :
Try REMAX offices. Of better yet, start calling up those places and talk to someone that you want to work with by asking them questions

Is stockton, ca a safe city in general. What part of stockton would be the best to live in?
might have to work in stockton, ca and would like more information, what part of stockton would you recommend living in.

Answer 1 :
Somewhere outside of Stockton. I've been through there twice. If there's a "good" part, I never saw it. It seems to be dirty and gritty and really not pretty. Plus, I keep hearing about crime in Stockton at least once a week. Go to the outskirts or a neighboring city to live. Probably a lot more peaceful.
Answer 2 :
Check out Yahoo Real Estate, Research Communities tab. Choose California and select Stockton. You will find all kinds of information about the community including a crime index. This seems as good as any source of information to trust. http://realestate.yahoo.com/Neighborhoods/detail.html?csz=Stockton,CA
Answer 3 :
Stockton isnt really as ghetto as people think. Yea it has its ghetto areas but stocktons spread out so you barely notice the ghettttto. If you want to be comfortable and safe, move in the Morada, spanos, and brookside areas. Those areas are MORE upscale than the normal neighborhood in stockton. I dont live in none of those areas, i live on the wayyy northside of stockton which is pretty safe if you ask me. But OVERALL. stockton isnt as bad as people may judge it to be. I've lived here all my life and i like it. To tell you the truth, the only dangerous neighborhood i know of is Kelly Dr. but lately its just been a reg neighborhood. Theres places that LOOOOK dangerous but they're all pretty much safe. Just trust me, stockton isnt a dangerous place to live.
Answer 4 :
Since I'm Born And Raised In Stockton I'll tell you it's probably Spanos Park, Moradas, and Brookside and Northside Stockton the safest and cleanest although if your not used to bad community's try Lodi, Lathrop, Manteca, and Tracy which are neighboring city's but the two above are great places especially Spanos Park which is in the Northside but I don't live there I live in the South which is really ghetto and shootings all the time
Answer 5 :
Stockton won an all american award for best city to live, i live in Sacramento which is about 45 min away but i've visited some pretty nice fancy shmancy areas. They also have UOP there , and that is a a pretty prestigious University.
Answer 6 :
are you looking to rent/buy? spanos park is a new development with a lot of bay area influence. i'd rather live in an older neighboorhood, like anything off the "miracle mile" if just looking for an apartment, a little known place called 5 mile house apartments (five miles from courthouse) i would highly recommend. hidden amongst oak trees on rivara rd off pacific ave near hammer ln. they're a little old fashioned but its quiet, most people don't even know its there, has a very woodsy feel and the managers are really great people. their number is (209) 477-9436. i just moved from there to bay area ;) if youre concerned about saftey just stay away from the east side of town. and certain pockets like off bianchi and manchester. try to stay north of harding way unless youre west of pershing
Answer 7 :
Stockton billionaire developer Alex G. Spanos lives in Stockton, in Lincoln Village (95207) and his grandkids currently attend the local school. Newcomers arriving to Stockton find an array of housing options. The median price starts at approximately $350,000. Stockton also has an assortment of dream homes 2,250,000...land. I send you this links City of Stockton :stocktongov.com Available houses: metrolistmls.com Local newspaper: recordnet.com
Answer 8 :
I lived in stockton my whole life its OK not the very best but since its the holidays there's been alot of robberies but i think the north side called spanos is a good place they just built it and theres shopping centers out there. its off of 8 mile you should really check it out
Answer 9 :
the middle
Answer 10 :
i work in Stockton off of Highway 99. You could live over off of Eight Mile road. they are building new houses out there. I currently live in Manteca and drive to work. its only 15 miles, and alot of my friends live in Lodi which is north of Stockton also about 15 miles. hope that helps
Answer 11 :
i lived there for 1 year then moved back to the bay area. i'd recommend that you shouldn't move over there. its gay and boring

About How old do you have to be to work in Stockton Ca

How old do you have to be to work in Stockton Ca??
Im 14 years old, going to be 15 in 2 months. I was wondering if I am permitted to work. When i was in middle school they did give out work permits but i was looking through some answers and some people are saying that u have to be 15 1/2. Now I am really confused. I need a real answer. I need an answer from someone that really knows the answer. THANK YOU!

Answer 1 :
No one can work full-time without being 16. And then there are strict guidelines for your job that the employer must meet (like no overtime, frequent breaks, work around school hours etc). But I believe you can get a work permit at 15. Otherwise you can do private work like dog walking, babysitting, mowing lawns and such. Contact you local Employment Department. Call and ask them these questions, they have the answers

About How does Amtrak work? Stockton,CA to Fullerton, CA

How does Amtrak work? Stockton,CA to Fullerton, CA?
I've never used Amtrak before, so I'm really not sure how this works. I live in an university in Stockton, CA, but wish to go down to So-Cal this Thanksgiving, Fullerton,CA. I know there are Amtrak stations in Stockton and Fullerton. But I don't know if they have routes connected, how and where to buy tickets, etc. I've already been to their website but I still don't understand how this works. Help? Thanks
Rail - 3 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
There are no direct trains between Stockton and Fullerton. The San Joaquin train runs between Sacramento, the Bay Area, and Bakersfield, with a stop in Stockton. The Southwest Chief and Pacific Surfliner trains serve Fullerton. Amtrak also operates Thruway bus service that connects with the trains. If you book from Stockton - ACE (SKT) to Fullerton (FUL) you will see bus trips from Bakersfield to LA and/or Fullerton included in the trip - current fare is $92. Book as far ahead as you can.
Answer 2 :
you will take one train (amtrak) from stockon to bakersfield then a amtrak bus to union staition then you change again to the pacific surliner to fullerton you cal also calll 1800 usarail and amtrak agent wlll also book your trip as well
Answer 3 :
You can board a San Joaquin train. You get on at Stockton and arrive in Oakland. Then in Oakland you get on the coast starlight and get off in Los Angeles. Then you have to take the pacific surfliner from there to fullerton. You can buy tickets at Stockton train station. The ride from Oakland to LA can take over 5 hours. You can also board a joaquin train and go to bakersfield. Then take an amtrak bus to LA. And then get on the pacific surfliner. There should be a phone number on the amtrak website for you to call. Hope I helped. If you're still confused you can go to your nearest amtrak station which is probably stockton and plan your tip
